TwentyFirst Real Estate is an Africa-focused property investment and home rental platform, connecting real estate agents, companies, and private sellers with buyers and renters across East Africa. In the beginning, everything worked out well; however, as the platform scaled and multi-role users grew alongside complex property listing structures and country-specific data with live currency conversion functionality, things get hard to manage.
The client needed a custom solution for three different users and was provided with full property descriptions and real-time pricing in multiple currencies, as well as Google Maps integration that was specific to their marketplace.
We worked pretty closely with TwentyFirst Real Estate on designing and building their whole platform from the ground up. The platform needs to carry a growing web of agents, companies, and private sellers across several African countries, and every place comes with its own little set of needs, workflows, and data requirements. No ready-made solution could realistically perform well for the business needs.

The platform also required an accurate, flexible, and manageable workflow to be handled in day-to-day activities by both the admin team & users listing properties. These included smooth submissions of properties, fast flexibility on verification requests, and simple facilitation between agents & companies & the admin without a bottleneck. To improve operations, we created an end-to-end workflow for property management, user verification, and centralized data storage from all services on the platform.
Property submissions go through a structured review process that gives the admin full control over what gets published and who gets verified.
Role-based access ensures that agents, companies, and private users will only see what is relevant for the account they are logged into.
The admin panel is where document verification takes place directly in front of you with no back and forth, hence making the approval process clean and nice.
Automated data exports and Google Sheet sync ensure that the client's team has current property & insights information with no manual effort.
We made many updates to make property control less complicated and day-to-day operations simpler and more enjoyable for the general baggage handlers and the in-house team.

The search with a Google Maps pin allowed users to easily find relevant properties based on location without searching through filter after endless filter and list views.
Live currency exchange rate conversions meant that users always saw pricing in their preferred currency, and there would be no confusion around underlying property prices between countries.
